We’re Traveling France: Part 4

June 15, 2023
Two Woman Are Hiking up a Hill

To round out our trip we made our way back to Nice and continued our regular schedule of beaches, castles, amazing food, and lots of walking. I think we averaged around 21,000 steps everyday. Just as we were getting comfortable with our new French life it was time to go home. Regrettably we had to head back to home for Kira and I it was kind of bittersweet. We of course did not want to go home because we were having so much good food and fun, but on the other hand we had our new apartment to go back to and find our rhythm and our normal life schedule. It was exciting still to think about, so we boarded the plane; before we could get home we had one more stop an overnight layover in Denmark.

We took the short plane ride to Denmark and headed straight for the hotel. When I tell you the hotel was like at the airport I mean it. This was my first time staying at a hotel that was just walking distance away. We could tell immediately that this was going to be the best hotel around because all of the pilots and flight attendants stayed there. We toured around this amazing hotel and they had a full kitchen, two bars, fun game areas, a functional gym, and a killer view of the airplanes. Lesson 9: Always let Kira book the hotels, she always chooses a hotel with breakfast even if she isn’t planning on eating it. We settled in to our room dropped off our bags and headed straight to the sky lounge. The sky lounge was a bar with a really cool view of the airplanes taking off. We got there at about sunset and the scene was perfect. This side story always kills Kira, but I ordered an espresso martini and I swear there was something about this bartender. He just made the most magical espresso martini ever and made direct eye contact with me the entire time. It was a full experience. Kira and her brother both had really great drinks there as well and we were overall extremely impressed. With another day winding down and an early morning we headed off to bed to watch some tv that we could not understand. Early the next morning we were up quick and went down to breakfast. I must say this was the most intricate hotel breakfast I’ve had. They had a table of fresh food that definitely did not just come out of a microwave and a machine that pumped out fresh orange juice. Then we headed out to walk to the airport and get on our plane home.

Nothing notable about our flight home, Kira and I watched around 4 movies. She was the champion at pressing play on both screens at the same time so that we could watch the movies together. I am pretty sure we both cried watching Storks.

Now that our Eurotrip was over I bet you would think we’d go back to normal life. Not a chance. Come back and read about some divine intervention.
